Stress can negatively impact many natural functions from the inside out. Stress can cause digestive problems, low energy, headaches, skin rashes, weight gain, and hormonal imbalance. These aren’t all the adverse effects of stress, but as you can already tell stress can affect any and every part of the body.
Physical stress alone can add up over time and eventually cause joint pain. Athletes such as boxers may develop osteoarthritis of the elbow from their heavy repetitive use of their elbow to throw punches. The human body is amazing, but do not be afraid to ask for help with physical stress. Most physical stresses are micro-level and the average American lifestyle is grossly deficient in movement. We can keep our nervous system rebooted and recharged by exercising and moving.
There are other little things you can do to help with stress. Pay attention to your diet. In the Pillar of Nutrition, you can learn about how harmful sugar is to the body and that it causes unnecessary stress. It is also very important to learn to relax. Even if it is for 20 minutes a day, start small and work your way up.
